Spalidz' soapbox on Quality
Our 5-3 offer
We like to call this our Northwest Series. We call it that because it is made in the Northwest, by those in the Northwest, and for those in the Northwest. In less words, this is the series of covers that lasts. We have seen it year after year; snow piles up, dogs sleep on, kids fall on, wind grabs, and mother nature unleashes fury on people's spa covers and the thinner, low density covers just do not hold up. Its a Northwest tailored cover that we are offering to all who come across this site.
| 5-3 Pro's | 5-3 Con's |
|---|---|
| strong | a little heavier |
| higher r-value | higher initial cost |
| long lasting | |
| protects family, pets, tub | |
| return on investment $$$ |
Our "stand" on 4-2 covers
No, we don't mean 4-2 spa covers you can stand on. We mean our opinion of 4-2, low density spa covers. Chances are you are looking at this page because your cover is prematurely waterlogged and HEAVY! You don't get to enjoy your tub because you can't lift the cover or it collapsed and is sitting in your tub. For a few of you still reading, this may be because you settled with purchasing an entry level cover. For some, the 4-2 1 lb. foam is great, that is, if your tub is covered by a gazebo, deck, or you live in a very pleasant place. However, if your tub is exposed to mother nature, it's going to take a beating. Below is a quick rundown of the pro's and con's of 4-2 1 lb. foam.
| 4-2 1 lb. Pro's | 4-2 1 lb. Con's |
|---|---|
| more affordable | more frequent cover replacements |
| lightweight | weak |
| good for covered tubs (under gazebo/deck) | low resilience to loads |
| good for smaller sized tubs | bad for larger tubs |
| low r-value | |
| higher water absorption |
